Grace and Hallam knew they wanted to create a truly unforgettable wedding – an experience that felt more like
a festival than a formal affair.

Can you tell me about your theme if you had one, the inspiration behind it and how you incorporated it into your wedding?

One of our favourite music festivals is called Boomtown and we decided to take inspiration from that, sending tickets for ‘Groomtown’ to our guests. We recruited our DJ friends and on our wedding website you could find a lineup, set times and travel details. We used ‘sunset’ colours – pink, orange and purple and themed our invites, website and decorations on the day around these colours.

What first drew you to your wedding venue?

It was perfect in every way! As well as being set in beautiful, secluded surroundings it was large enough for us to set up different ‘stages’ in different areas of the venue’s grounds. There was enough accommodation for most of our guests but we also set up a camping site so some guests got the authentic festival experience (but with access to showers!).

What was the atmosphere like on the big day?

Other than the morning of the wedding when you could find Hallam pacing up and down the carpark, it was a party atmosphere all day long. We’d prepared for rain but the sun came out and made the venue look even more glorious. All our guests brought great vibes and energy.

How did your chosen venue go above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect?

Gradbach was faultless. Their friendly staff were flexible and accommodating from day one and very understanding of our needs and vision for the wedding, putting us at complete ease. If there were any hitches or problems, we certainly didn’t notice them. The venue always felt clean, spacious and welcoming. And everybody has commented on how good the food was!

Who was your chosen Photographer and why did you choose them?

We found Nisha (Your Choice Photography) online and loved her photography style. We then met her for an engagement shoot and loved her! She was absolutely wonderful and captured the entire atmosphere and vibe of the wedding perfectly.

What was the most memorable part of your day?

The ceremony, officiated by one of our best friends, was amazing with a beautiful backdrop and stunning flowers. But our guests have frequently mentioned the Brass Rascals, a band who came up to put on brass covers of electronic, drum n’bass and jungle music.
