Chris & Francesca knew they’d found the ‘one’ for them after they visited Silverholme Manor.
Chris & Francesca reminisce:
How long were you looking for your wedding venue, and what made you choose it? We didn’t have to search long. Chris had actually discovered Silverholme Manor before even proposing and suggested it the morning after we got engaged! A few months later, we had a weekend of viewings lined up, but once we had seen Silverholme, we cancelled the rest. We knew we’d found the one.
With family and friends travelling from all over the world, we wanted a venue that felt truly extraordinary for such a special gathering. Silverholme offered everything we envisioned – exclusive use, breathtaking views of Windermere, timeless charm, and a homely, intimate setting, perfect for celebrating and spending the weekend with those closest to us.
How did your venue assist in the planning for your big day, and how was the overall planning experience? Vanessa and her team were an amazing support from beginning to end, going above and beyond to make sure every detail came together beautifully. Vanessa’s relationships with local vendors were invaluable; her recommendations for suppliers like the catering and the marquee company saved us time and ensured we had the best. Every vendor we worked with spoke so highly of Silverholme, which made us feel confident in every choice.
On the big day, how did your wedding coordinator ensure everything ran smoothly? Vanessa was always available to handle every question and last-minute detail, even coordinating a last minute delivery of gin from the Lakes Distillery! She also helped organise a pre-wedding visit to see another Marquee set-up similar to ours, which helped us finalise logistics and the final smaller details which put our minds at ease a month prior to our wedding.
The weekend was everything we could have dreamed of and more and Silverholme Manor will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Who was your wedding photographer, and why did you choose them? We found our photographer, Becky Tranter, through Silverholme’s Instagram. She’d photographed a wedding there previously, and I loved her style and how beautifully she captured the venue. Becky’s photos felt timeless—exactly what we wanted for our own day.
