Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa was the perfect venue for Eve and Colin to say ‘I do’.
How long were you looking for your wedding venue and what made you choose them?
We had been discussing our plans for a long time and looked at various venues online first and made a list of options we needed particularly the style of venue but also the need for accommodation, when we saw Formby Hall’s beautiful grounds and that it met our needs we enquired directly if our date was free. We found out about their wedding showcase evening and attended and once we began the tour and saw the facilities, we both knew that it was the perfect venue for our special day. We were looking for about 3 months prior to choosing the right venue.
How did your venue assist in the planning for your big day and how was the overall planning experience?
Amanda Brady met us on the showcase day and from that moment we met her she made us feel welcome. She helped us with all the details ensuring every detail was perfect, she even reminded us of items which we had not thought about and advised us of various scenarios which we talked about and planned with her. The whole team at Formby Hall helped us and we felt so comfortable with them deal with everything. We had regular email and face to face meetings to discuss all our planning.
On the big day, how did your wedding coordinator ensure all ran smoothly?
On the day, Amanda Brady, who normally never works at weekends or attends wedding came and oversaw all details, Khem and Amanda worked in sync to ensure everything we had discussed and organised run like clockwork. Amanda ensured that we as a couple were in the right place at the right time, Khem ensured our guests were in the right place and also ensured the waiting staff, the catering team and all the others vendors on the day were punctual and setting up unobtrusively so as not to distract anyone whilst we and our guests enjoyed our special day.
Who was your wedding photographer and why did you choose them?
We used two companies who work closely together, the photography company were Flash Weddings, and the videographer was JB Films, we met with quite a few companies and discussed the day with them but never felt they listened to how we wanted to have our day recorded. We found our chosen companies via social media. We researched their pages and then called and discussed our plans and they were more than accommodating and even suggested the use of a drone for our Surprise Musical Pyrotechnic display. They talked a lot to us via text email and telephone ensuring how we felt the day should be recorded and worked and again suggested little details to help us. We are still awaiting our final album as we have had a few special touches added because the bride’s father who passed is being added into a few pictures as a special memento and we are having an extra video edited with just the pyrotechnic display and the soundtrack added to it.
