For Amber and Ciaran, they chose to celebrate their wedding where it all started, at Hatfield Park, the place they visited on their first date. Creating cherished memories they will treasure forever.
Can you tell me about your theme if you had one, the inspiration behind it and how you incorporated it into your wedding?
We both love drinking wine and going to wine tastings and wanted to bring that into our colour scheme, favours and decorations where possible. To play on the different types of wine, we went with the colours white, pink/rose, orange and burgundy and this was incorporated through our flowers, bridesmaids and groomsmen and other decorative items. We also made decorations out of corks such as our initials and wedding cake toppers and recycled empty wine bottles and put fairy lights in them and labelled them with different grape varieties for our table ‘numbers’.
What first drew you to your wedding venue?
We really liked the history of the palace and the layout of the room with the picturesque view of Hatfield House. This was also the first place we went on a date after moving to the area!
What was the atmosphere like on the big day?
Joyful, timeless and magical!
How did your chosen venue go above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect?
The venue were very helpful and accommodating to our drink requests and allowing us to decorate the palace exactly how we wanted it. The day ran very smoothly and hassle free for us which allowed us to enjoy all aspects of the day.
Who was your wedding photographer and why did you choose them?
Rafe Abrook was our photographer and videographer – he, and his colleague, were incredible! Very relaxed and guided us through all the photo opportunities around Hatfield House. We liked his style of photos and the fact he had photographed there before and offered both photography and videography in one package. Would highly recommend!
What was the most memorable part of your day?
The dancefloor! Talking to our friends and dancing the night away to the band, Listen to Dermot, in the historic palace is one of the highlights (there are many!)
