For Kayley and Taylor, their wedding was more than just a beautiful day—it was a deeply personal celebration of their love, brought to life through a shared passion for vintage style and the unforgettable setting of Shuttleworth, surrounded by the people who matter most.
What first attracted you to your wedding venue and what made you decide that it would be perfect for your special day?
We only live about ten minutes away, so we came along to one of the venue’s display events—which was incredible. While we were wandering around, we spotted the Hangar and immediately said how amazing it would be to host a vintage-themed party there. Six months later, Taylor proposed, and Shuttleworth was the first place we thought of. The planes are incredible and the space is so unique—we just knew our friends and family would love it. When we discovered we could also hold the ceremony in the Summer House, it confirmed everything. It felt like the perfect setting for a relaxed, unique and truly spectacular wedding.
Can you tell me about your theme if you had one, the inspiration behind it and how you incorporated it into your wedding?
With the incredible planes and vintage racing cars, we knew from the start that a vintage theme would be perfect for our wedding. We asked our guests to dress in styles from the 1920s to the 1950s, and they absolutely embraced it—no one disappointed. The men leaned into military pilot uniforms and Peaky Blinders-inspired looks, while the women went for glamorous speakeasy styles and classic 1950s rock and roll dresses.
To bring the theme to life, we had a vintage rock and roll band and even organised a Lindy Hop dance class, which kept the dance floor full all night. One of the standout moments was a pyrotechnic aeroplane display—it was incredible and the perfect way to kick off the evening celebrations.
We also included vintage fairground game stalls and a photo booth, which kept everyone entertained and really added to the fun, immersive atmosphere of the day.
How did your venue go above and beyond in ensuring everything was perfect on the day?
Georgia was incredible from start to finish. We had always dreamed of getting married in the Summer House, but with the weather so unpredictable in the week leading up to the wedding, she went above and beyond—setting up both indoor and outdoor options and checking the forecast constantly. When a window of good weather finally appeared, she acted quickly and seamlessly, and we were able to have our dream ceremony outside.
We had lots of ideas and little wish-list touches, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Georgia always found a way to make things work. She helped bring so many of the details together—from arranging for sofas from the café to be brought in, to allowing us to display vintage photos, coordinating classic cars on site, and even organising countless drop-ins so we could check layouts and make sure everything was just right.
We genuinely couldn’t fault Georgia and her team—they made the whole process feel stress-free and truly enjoyable.
Who was your chosen Photographer and why did you choose them?
We chose Tom Bond Photography as our photographer. It was important to us to work with someone who already knew the venue, as we felt that would help everything run more smoothly and take away some of the stress on the day.
Tom was incredible—he blended in so naturally that he felt more like one of the guests than a supplier, which made everyone feel completely at ease. We’re so pleased we chose him. He captured so many special moments, but one of our favourites is a photo of me coming down the stairs before the ceremony—it’s honestly my favourite photo of myself ever.
If you could pick one word to describe your wedding, what would it be and why?
We’d describe our wedding as joyful. Being surrounded by all our favourite people, in a setting we loved, created such an incredible atmosphere—it was full of laughter, love and unforgettable moments.
